Jan Pamela beats Faraway 9-5 in
Wanderers Classic play

Jan Pamela (2-2) held Faraway (2-2) scoreless in two of the opening three chukkers for
a 4-2 halftime lead before riding on to score a 9-6 win Friday afternoon in the 14-goal
Wanderers Classic at the International Polo Club in Wellington.
Steve Dalton scored the only goal of the first chukker on a penalty shot while Faraway
missed two penalty shots and were held scoreless, 1-0.
Hector Galindo and Carlitos Galindo ran the Jan Pamela lead to 3-0 in the second
chukker before Faraway got its offense on track. Juan Valerdi and Julian Daniels
scored single goals to cut the Jan Pamela lead to a single goal, 3-2 at the end of the
period.
One more Dalton goal gave Jan Pamela a 4-2 halftime lead as Faraway was shut out
again.
Daniels scored another goal for Faraway in the fourth chukker, but single goals from
Dalton and Hector Galindo extended the Jan Pamela lead to three goals, 6-3.
Tomas Obregon cut deeper into the Jan Pamela lead with consecutive goals to open
the fifth. Faraway trailed by a single goal, 6-5, when Jan Pamela fired back. Two
penalty conversions for goals by Dalton ended the chukker with Jan Pamela leading by
three goals again, 8-5.
Hector Galindo’s third goal of the game had Jan Pamela on top of a comfortable 9-5
lead n the final chukker as Faraway continued to have problems mounting an attack.
Valerdi scored the final goal of the match in the 9-6 Jan Pamela win.
Dalton set the pace for Jan Pamela with five goals. Hector Galindo scored three times
and Carlitos Galindo added a goal in the win.
Daniels, Obregon and Valerdi each scored two goals for Faraway.
