British Open Quarterfinals set

Friday morning’s shootout between La Bamba de Areco (Jean Francois Decaux, Polito

Pieres, Gonzalito Pieres and Ollie Cudmore), Black Bears (Guy Schwarzenbach, Nachi

du Plessis, John Paul Clarkin and Patrick O’Dwyer) and Enigma (Jerome Wirth, Charlie

Hanbury, Guillermo Willington and Sapo Caset) for the last quarterfinal spot in the

2013 Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open saw La Bamba de Areco advance,

scoring on six penalty shots to five for Black Bears and four for Enigma.

With the final results in, the quarterfinal schedule has UAE (3-1) playing Talandracas (3-

1) at noon on Saturday followed by a contest between El Remanso (3-1) and Sumaya

(3-1).

Sundays Gold Cup action will feature a noon match between Zacara (4-0), the only

undefeated team in the field, and La Bamba de Areco (2-2), while Dubai (3-1) will meet

Twelve Oaks (3-1) in the 3PM game.

The Gold Cup semifinals have been slated to be played on Thursday, July 18, with the

winner of the UAE vs. Talandracas game facing the winner of the Dubai vs. Twelve

Oaks game in the noon semifinal.  At 4 pm, the winner of the El Remanso vs. Sumaya

game will play the winner of the Zacara vs. La Bamba de Areco contest in the second

semifinal.
